Our Services

Overland Speech Therapy provides individualised speech pathology assessment, intervention and consultation for children, adolescents and adults.

Support may focus on:

• understanding and using language
• speech sounds
• social communication and connection
• reading, writing and spelling
• augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
• communication access, self-advocacy and participation

Services are collaborative, strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming and responsive to each person’s communication preferences, environment and goals.

Regular services are available across the Allyn, Paterson and Williams Valleys, including the Dungog Shire Council area and selected parts of Mid Coast and Port Stephens Councils. This includes Vacy, Paterson, Martins Creek, Gresford, East Gresford, Dungog, Clarence Town, Seaham, Booral, Stroud, Allworth, Woodville, Wallalong and surrounding communities. Scheduled outreach is also available to Gloucester.

Overland Speech Therapy refers clients to other Speech Pathologists for assessment and management of swallowing and feeding difficulties.

Alannah has a diverse background in both clinical practice and allied health leadership, which supports her in providing effective supervision. With a practical, real-world approach, Alannah provides a supportive space for Speech Pathologists to reflect, build confidence and strengthen their clinical practice.

Her supervision supports clinicians working in the areas of complex disability, mental health and early intervention. Alannah has a strong focus on family-centred practice and offers guidance on supporting functional and authentic communication, building capacity, and working effectively with families.

Alannah provides external clinical supervision for Speech Pathologists across Australia, with in-person sessions available within the Hunter region. All other sessions are delivered via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Alannah provides support to schools and early childhood services, with services tailored to the needs of each setting. Support may include case consultation, staff training and practical workshops focused on functional communication, inclusion and neurodiversity-affirming practice.

Consultation can also support teams to better understand and respond to individual students, strengthen communication access within the environment, and build the confidence and capacity of staff.

Overland Speech Therapy is an approved provider under the NSW Department of Education’s Specialist Allied Health and Behaviour Support Provider Scheme.
