  • The Hanen Centre provides parents & professionals with programs, workshops & resources for early childhood language & literacy development, language delays & autism. Please click here to access parent tips to help support your child develop their language and literacy skills.

  • Positive Partnerships works together with parents, carers and educators of school-aged Autistic children to provide current, relevant and evidence informed information through workshops and online resources.

  • MyTime organises supported groups where parents and carers of children with disability or other additional needs can feel understood, share ideas and access quality information and resources.

  • Providers of First Steps workshops and webinars that are free for parents of children with a disability in the early years before school. These sessions will help parents to understand how funding works, learn more about services and supports, meet other parents and build confidence. Please click here to find out more.

  • A limited number of early intervention classes are located in some NSW public schools and operate during school terms.

    These are where children usually attend for 2.5 hour sessions, two to three days a week. Class sizes range from five to eight children and children are aged between three and six years. Children with a confirmed disability from 3 years of age to school entry are eligible to apply.

  • Carers NSW provides information, education and training, resources and referrals to support carers.

  • Disability Advocacy NSW (DA) provides free individual advocacy services to support people with disability across two-thirds of NSW, including Penrith, Hawkesbury & the Blue Mountains.

    DA stands beside people with disability to help them know their rights, sort out issues, and be fully included in the community.

  • Parent Line is a free telephone counselling and support service for parents and carers with children aged 0 to 18 who live in NSW.

  • Child and Family Health Nurses provide parenting information, support, guidance and referral options to parents and carers of children from birth to school age. This service is free and operates seven days a week.

  • The Communication Hub is a joint project by Speech Pathology Australia and Agosci Inc. It is an accessible online resource for people with communication difficulties, their communication partners, and the wider community. It highlights the importance of communication in everyday life and provides information for those with communication difficulties to empower themselves and others.
